A/V Broadcast & Film

From the growing Georgia film industry, along with the only high school Film Academy in the country, at Central Film Academy, right across the street from us, we have a unique opportunity to have an A/V Broadcast & Film Feeder Program right here at Otwell Middle School!

Exploring A/V Broadcast & Film Program Description:

This hands-on, real-world program introduces students to the exciting world of audio, video, broadcasting, and film production. Through real-world storytelling experiences, students explore the creative and technical sides of media—learning everything from podcasting and broadcasting to short film production and studio operations.

Students work in production teams to write scripts, operate cameras, record and edit content, and collaborate in a fully equipped industry standard studio environment; Sic 'Em Studios! As part of the program, students also have access to our professional-grade recording studio, where they can produce voiceovers, record original music, and experiment with audio engineering tools. In Sic 'Em Studios students are free to be creative, content creators, and share their ideas and voice with the world!

Where it all began! The Bulldawgs Unleashed podcast started in the Fall of 2022 with myself and Otwell Middle School's Educational Technology Coach, David Miller. Listeners are given a weekly glimpse into the staff, students, and our Otwell community.

Bulldawgs Unleashed is also home to the FIRST and ONLY video podcast in Forsyth County Schools history!

Presenting the FIRST and ONLY entirely student-led video podcast in any middle school in Forsyth County Schools history! DAWG Talk provides the student voice for Otwell Middle School students. From the name of the show, logo, to pre and post production, 100% student-led. By the students for the students!

The FIRST audio middle school student podcast in Forsyth County Schools history! It is now a student-led video podcast that keeps you informed of the highlights happening each week at Otwell Middle School.
